Harris Tea Company realizes significant improvements in Inventory management using Motek’s Priya® Warehouse Management System
North America’s largest producer of private label teas completes third Priya installation in just six weeks!

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – February 19, 2007 - Harris Tea Company, the largest blender and packer of private label teas in North America, has completed its third implementation of Motek’s Windows-based Priya^® Warehouse Management System (WMS) in just six weeks, bringing significant improvement in productivity and inventory management to its 70,000 square foot Anaheim, Calif., distribution center.

“With Priya, in just three months we have seen a 40% improvement in productivity, and a significant improvement in our ability to accurately locate and ship inventory,” said Ram Gangupanthulu, senior systems analyst for iRely Solutions, a systems integration company Harris Tea Company worked with on the implementation.

Priya’s real-time inventory management software and dynamic picking capabilities aided Harris Tea in its ability to maximize space and establish zones to ensure products are shipped based on freshness dates to help reduce loss and ensure customers receive the freshest teas. 

“Prior to using Priya there was a 2% product loss annually,” explained Gangupanthulu.  “Using Priya, Harris Tea FIFO management has become more effective, and we expect to completely eliminate product loss due to expiration within the first full year of use.”
