Sophisticated Implementation Technology Assists In Getting Multiple Warehouses Up To Speed In Less Than 45 Days

BEVERLY HILLS, CA (January 2000) - Motek®, the leading provider of supply chain execution systems for Microsoft Windows®, announced today that RAMCO Trading Corp. and ShipXact.com have successfully implemented Motek's Priya Warehouse Management System and are now each managing remote warehouses from a single sever.

Priya®, Motek's award-winning WMS, is the cornerstone of ShipXact.com's new fulfillment system at its Norcross, Georgia distribution center. Priya is responsible for managing all of the activity within the walls of two ShipXact warehouse and interfaces to a Web-enabled enterprise application that can effectively match customer requirements with supplier resources, and manage the relationships between each. Running under Microsoft Windows and SQL Server, the system is e-commerce ready via Internet, extranet or intranet connectivity.

RAMCO implemented Priya in their 90,000-square foot warehouse in Florida to replace an old paper-based warehouse management system, and is in the process of installing the WMS in a second facility. A former paper-based system made it difficult to track the wholesaler's fast-moving inventory since item locations and status were not updated in real-time. This "lag time" resulted in lost merchandise in the warehouse as well as a lot of wasted time while workers searched the warehouse looking for items.

"Since implementing Priya with its real time locator, our worker productivity has improved greatly just in the few months that the system has been up" said Bret Davis, RAMCO's COO. "Our employees now spend more time moving product and less time looking for it. In addition, our inventory accuracy has improved to better than 99%."
