As project manager for the British Virgin Islands’ largest retail grocery and wholesale food distributor, Davis had a difficult choice: buy an integrated SAP-like package or create a best-in-class system using premier accounting, order entry and warehousing systems. Despite the logistical challenges of using multiple vendors, Davis refused to settle for a mediocre all encompassing solution from one vendor. Instead he put together and implemented a state-of-the-art system that easily adapts to his organization’s changing business requirements as they grow. His collaborative project management skills led to a flawless deployment, giving his company improved inventory accuracy, greater operator productivity and companywide access to data. His methods improved customer satisfaction in stores throughout the islands. Today, Davis’ project management style is admired and emulated company wide.
