Motek’s Priya® to automate inventory management as specialty distributor expands in highly competitive market.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – January 23, 2006 – Winebow, a specialty Italian wine importer located in New Jersey, has selected Motek’s Windows-based Priya® Warehouse Management System (WMS) to automate its new warehouse facility in order to increase inventory accuracy and reduce picking errors for expensive products.

Priya’s Windows®-based platform was a key factor in Winebow’s decision to work with Motek. “They wanted a system that was simple to use and understand, provided easy and immediate access to information, was easy to maintain, and complimented the existing technology platform,” added Waters

Winebow plans to make full use of Priya’s warehouse functionality including handheld scanning for receiving and pallet orders, voice technology for picking and shipping orders, and reports for real-time inventory visibility. Priya’s dynamic pick slotting will help Winebow maximize its warehouse floor space by assigning locations and rotating inventory based on date and vintage. This is essential as the same type of wine from different years can vary dramatically in price.
Motek’s project manager Coreen McCorkendale said: “Priya’s voice technology enables hands-free inventory management, potentially improving Winebow’s picking speed from about 85 cases an hour to 250 cases an hour.”
